Scissor Sisters draw their influences from musical genres long banished from American radio -- art rock, glam rock, Seventies disco, eccentric singer-songwriter pop and Broadway show tunes. When the Sisters evoke Elton John on the wryly boogieing "Take Your Mama," they tackle the Honky Chateau era that not even Sir Elton attempts anymore.

"It Can't Come Quickly Enough"'s dance-pop is too accurate, getting the bland side way too right, while "Return to Oz" cribs from Pink Floyd without the salve of artful dance club redirection. It can't come quickly enough And now you've spent your life Waiting for this moment And when you finally saw it come It passed you by and left you so defeated Skyscrapers rise between us Keeping me from finding you If the concrete architecture Dissapeared there'd be so few Of us left to navigate and Defend ourselves from the tide.

Those who checked out the act's self-titled debut album were pleased to hear a full-blown Goodbye Yellow Brick Road homage in "Take Your Mama," as well as the hope-filled emotional change-up of "It Can't Come Quickly Enough." Now making commercial inroads in their homeland, Scissor Sisters have eyebrow-raising tunes for days, not to mention hairstyles .

Scissor Sisters nails it again with this album. Great beats and lyrics on most of the songs. My favorite songs are: "Fight Fire With Fire", "Invisible Light", "Running Out" and "Skin This Cat". If you liked Scissor Sister's previous two albums, you won't be disappointed with this one either!/5().
