    That was in the very early stages of Mattson 2. Did you already have an album out when you did that first Japanese tour? Jonathan: That was Ray Barbee Meets Mattson 2, and we toured there with Ray. We played this one cool noteworthy venue called Ageha, which is right on the water there, and it was a crazy festival that lasted all night. I think.

    In March , Barbee recorded in Japan with the Mattson 2. That recording became Ray Barbee Meets The Mattson 2, a collaboration melding the guitar/drums of the Mattson 2 with Ray Barbee playing additional guitar. When playing live together, Ray sometimes assumes a dual bass line/lead role (both on his guitar) during the set.
